Visually enthralling, emotionally hollow. Hate to say it, but I felt myself getting bored during this screening. The images are impressive, but I don’t think there is a single scene that sticks in my mind as memorable. At least, not in a good way. Eggers wanted to pay homage to the original, but I question if essentially remaking it while adding 35 minutes of subpar dialogue was the way to go about it.
