Uncut Gems in the 1950s newspaper racket. Awesome movie with great characters running around saying insane shit.
Older movies do many things better but they generally aren’t as good at character studies because the stiffer acting gets in the way, but this was a first rate character study on Sidney Falco. The Worst Person in the World 2021
Gut punch of a movie. One of those Rilke art experiences where it resounds with “you must change your life.”
I love how this movie captures the pace of life, the awkward slope of it, and the unintended outcomes that we have no choice but to live in and call ‘life’. It’s quite impressive how this movie does what it does. What a portrait of a life.
