I have a theory: the queen (Elinor) has had already some type of experience of magic just like Merida does during the film. Because:
- At the start of the film she says she believes in magic
- It seems like she knows where the house of the witch is
- When she sees the will o' the wisps she litteraly throw herself on them. Which is very strange considering that the rest of the time she tries to behave…
