Saw this on a date that went really well, but then the 2nd date didn't so it's slightly coloured the movie for me in retrospect.

Astounding detail in every scene, a must-be Oscar-winning performance by Ralph Fiennes, a political/detective thriller set in the surrounds of the Vatican, with corruption permeating every corner (in the Vatican???? No wayyyyyy!!!)
Screenplay and dialogue are beautifully crafted, and every shot draws the eye to it. Pacing is excellent, the score is wonderful, and despite Ralph Fiennes stealing the show, Isabella Rosellini delivers an understated and notably underrated performance.
