The Suicide Squad 2021
Anyone who knows me knows that I despised the original Suicide Squad film so much. It was genuinely awful so I went into this with pretty tepid expectations and having seen no reviews. I have to admit, while it wasn't anything mind blowing it was genuinely really enjoyable and I didn't leave the cinema screen wishing to reclaim almost 2 hours of my life. If that isn't praise I don't know what is. Also John Cena is actually hilarious, non ironically.

Wow how incredibly refreshing it is to see a GREAT original film rather than another based off a source material. As Astra is intimate in the same ways it is vast and existential, a wonderful look into the void left by absent parents. Brad Pitt delivers one of his best performances as a lead actor and his sense of isolation is something I really felt throughout the entirety of the film.Visually beautiful and one of those films…
