An extraordinarily tight, beautifully shot, well written film brought remarkably to life by a cast that is small but carries the entire weight of the film. Truly, this film would not work as well as it does with out the entire ensemble bringing its A-game. I struggle to find anything wrong with Black Bag, maybe the dialogue is too jargon filled to fully follow the crumbs being scattered but anything other may have dulled the impact of the entire thing. Black Bag is one of the clearest examples of why movies are the best mediums of story telling.

The Clovehitch Killer is a work in temperature not only in lighting or color grading but in tone and atmosphere. The way it uses warm vs cool colors to distinguish between safe and unsafe, the complacent and the curious, the good and the evil. Using color as signifiers isn't new to cinema but the way The Clovehitch Killer to disguise the wicked and the mundane seamlessly is spectacular.
