Bill Murray's talents were just enough elevate the experience to adequate, but these "high points" were few and far between.
It's really harmless, if you don't consider uncanny cg character fx to be terrifying - and well, who would, except the effort to horrify seems deliberate in the manner that the titular cat convulses and writhes in the uncanny valley.
Film moves fast, and at a more frenetic pace than first film - which is thematically fitting for a film about the internal torment of anxiety in a young teen’s mind - I thought the film had thoughtful, accessible and simple profundity to offer its young teen audience - in a cautionary tale about letting our fears define our sense of self.
Not the most innovative, a little crowded, but positive and cute - kids shouldn't miss it , and adults who will relate to Riley will be hard pressed not to tear up thinking of their own war within their young selves.
