Andrew Haigh makes movies just for me.
This was such an emotional and harrowing experience I can't even. Oh God! I kept crying and crying.
This doesn't feel like a 2023 movie. It just seemed so mature, so classic, so vintage, so....... old.
I want to live inside this movie. I don't know what that says about me as a person but no matter how sad or melancholic it is, I want to live in this world. It's just too…

Derek Cianfrance is a well known name among moviewatchers. Unlike everyone else, I'd only seen Blue Valentine before this and that was an achingly beautiful film. I couldn't stop my tears through most of it.
The Light Between Oceans, from it's poster and the fact that it was the reason the lead actors married in real life, seemed like a happy romantic movie. But that it definitely was not. I couldn't be more wrong 😭.

I am floored. 3h45mins flew by just like that.
This movie captures everything that makes our India the country that it is. We can beat anybody at their own game if we rise above our religious, caste, class etc. differences and just stand united as Indians. Amidst the times where communal disharmony is at peak, this movie is a beautiful reminder of the power of a united India.
A.R. Rahman and Javed Akhtar saab made this movie even more memorable…

    Sooraj Barjatya in 480p.
Mediocre script, mediocre acting, mediocre everything.
All the conflicts felt forced and the resolutions very convenient.

Sometimes, those who let you go love you more than those who keep you.
Beautiful tale of motherhood, love and loss in times of war.

When you're at your lowest, art comes to the rescue. Music, films, books etc. all provide solace when needed. But art alone can't pull us back from the shadows of grief. It takes a companion. Someone you can talk to. Someone who listens. Someone who cares.
One of the blessings of being human is that we can talk. I wish people appreciated it more.
