  Black Diamond scene onwards pivots the movie from a steller and interesting concept into the tired trope of imperialism and environmental protection. The adaptation changes were excellent. Robert Patterson is incredible. Wish it went further with what worked and remained focused until the end. Edge of Tomorrow uses an adjacent concept more consistently with greater plot relevancy.

  I will never forget the initial reveal of Godzilla in this film. The slow build over the course of an hour makes the moment that the tension breaks impactful and memorable. The weight, the breathing, and the scale is unrivaled. It was a moment in film that I have never forgotten.
