Mud 2012
This movie was great. The performances were all amazing and Tye Sheridan especially stood out. The look and feel of the South was really brought out by the cinematography and looked gorgeous.
The script was also very strong and everything that was included in the story came back around towards the end and had a purpose - this made the movie very satisfying to watch. This was just a great movie and very well-done, not much about it to dislike at all.

It took a little bit for the story to not feel disjointed for me, but once I got settled in, I ended up enjoying this a lot. The story was a bit of a slow burn but I loved it by the end. The relationship between the detective and the widow was complicated, confusing, but felt weirdly genuine.
The emotional payoff to the realization that the widow did acknowledge the detective's love for her (and maybe loved him too?) was…
