There were a lot individual things/performances about this movie that I really loved, but I don’t know that it quite lived up to my expectations. Robert Pattinson killed it. Mark Ruffalo’s character reminded me of Poor Things. World building and visuals were all great.
It also had a lot of themes that right up my alley, but I don’t feel like it came together for me in the way I wanted.
It's been a while since I've seen a kid-friendly animated movie in theaters, but I needed to see if the hype around this movie was real and I can happily confirm it delivered.
The animation art style was very cool and reminded me of watercolor paintings. The story itself wasted no time and the plot kept it pushing at a consistent and almost jarringly fast pace to the point I didn't understand how they'd hit the run time.
All in all, recommend this one for a sweet and emotional watch. Lots of mother/parent related themes going on too, so be prepared if that's a soft spot.
Great movie that balanced the emotional beats with the laughs and lots of nostalgia for those who experienced the early days of the internet/social media.
This movie is in the same family as some other projects I've liked, such as Eighth Grade, Pen15, mid 90s, and EEAAO.
