Really great performance from Bjork, especially that final scene wow. But overall, too melodramatic for my tastes and I don’t really like the musical interludes, mainly because the music and editing are jarring (which I get is a bit the point). Interestingly, and shocking in retrospect, this beat In the Mood for Love for the Palme d’Or.

No Country for Old Men 2007
Holds up as one of the most philosophically interesting (and depressing) action/suspense movies ever made. The cast is fantastic and Bardem rightfully gets a lot of credit but Tommy Lee Jones steals this movie. I’ve always loved the decision to handle one of the endings of a main plot line very indirectly.
