  Watched this banger again. Definitely a highly re-watchable film. Like many of Wes Anderson's, the first viewing has to be just letting the scenes, colors, symmetry, wittily frank dialogue, and soundtrack wash over you. Took another viewing for me to grasp more of the emotions and relationships. Enjoyed this very much.

  Reducing it from 4 to 3.5 stars as this cannot be higher rated than Rushmore.

  dropped this from 4.5 to 4 stars today. it was a difficult decision. i was so fond of this film in my younger years. however, a great deal has changed since.

  still enjoy the music, editing, and occasional artsy art shots. plot driven. standard character tropes. intellectually stimulating, lacks emotional depth.

  note to self: DVD is scratched. must get new copy of this film.
