  I wanted to like this but it’s take on the endless cycle violence when pursing revenge wasn’t very original or compelling. The protagonist’s motives didn’t really land with me either. I did really like how he is portrayed as a very “normal” guy.

  Not that I have any first hand experience with drug addiction but this movie seemed to be the most grounded and believable interpretation of addiction I have seen in the film medium. 

  Candy is the first film I’ve seen tackle this subject matter without romanticizing it which is incredibly ironic as the movie also can be classified as a romance film.
