I genuinely can't tell if this movie is good or even actually exists.

It's incredible that nic cage can come off as one of the more grounded constants of this movie. I find this movie kind of an anomaly and not sure if I truly enjoyed it but the heart of it being two great actors like Cage and Dern giving a perfect vibe throughout carries a lot of it for me.

I don’t think that the central themes quite resonated with me as some of his previous works but even when I'm not completely sold on one of his movies Anderson manages to deliver a fantastic experience. Excellent and interesting staging for all the scenes, very funny and poignant writing and the usual fantastic command of his own creative aesthetic. Even if i came out not entirely sold on this one I think it’s still one of the highest quality movies to come out this year, highly recommended.

The movie masterfully hits all the vibes of the type of horror it's going for but I can't help but feel it doesn't go as weird or dark as it wants to like Egger's previous film the Lighthouse. While I thoroughly enjoyed it I left feeling somewhat unsatisfied.
