Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is a weatherman in Pittsburgh who travels to Punxsutawney to cover the story of the weather forecasting rodent, the groundhog, for the fourth year in a row. Being very pessimistic the whole time, he ends up living in a endless loop of it being February 2nd every single day. First he uses it to his advantage, but then he comes to realize this means he has to live in the same boring town, seeing the same boring people day in,day out for the rest of his life.
