  Jason Mantzoukas, I'm a big fan.

  Pretty straightforward road trip movie, likeable actors and characters, opposite personalities stuck together, chaos ensues. It's an easy and enjoyable watch. Right down the middle. Nothing more to say.

  I’ve always liked this film. Schumacher infuses it with a lot of style, and it works. He creates a unique world, shrouded in darkness and gothic elements, with steam and smoke pouring out from every corner of the environment, enveloping the characters as if they were part of a dream state. He loves to play with color, sometimes it washes over entire scenes and is used as a transitional element between a character's manifestation and reality. In any other movie…

  Loved the pace of this, it takes its time but it's not in anyway plodding along, just feels natural. It in some ways reminded me of The Insider, but I can't exactly pinpoint why. Maybe it's the understated acting of the ancillary characters who were all great in their roles. There are deeping meanings here that touch upon midlife crises & searching for renewed purpose in your later years. I'll have to rewatch to full appreciate some of those themes. All in all a great film.

  Cat's Eye 1985

  Love the concept of the cat being the character that's brings you in and out of each story. I have memories of this as a kid, particularly the music. I think the stories themselves could have been a bit more developed. The standout being the James Woods smoking addiction story. He pulled off some solid acting there.
