This is pretty much exactly what you’d want and expect from an animated, made for TV movie from the 70s, all the way down to the knock-off John Denver doing the soundtrack. I liked it better than Peter Jackson’s 3-part series which, in my opinion, took itself way too seriously. This seemed more appropriate as an adaptation of a short novel that was written for kids.

How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies 2024
This film is about a young man and his relationship with his dying grandmother. I guess I'm a sucker for films about regular people navigating common circumstances, because it's one of the most beautiful films I've seen in a long time.
Every character, including minor characters, are nuanced. The acting is exceptional. Putthipong Assaratanakul is extraordinarily expressive in a way that feels very genuine.
At just over two hours, and with fairly slow pacing, this film feels like it flies. An incredible experience.
