Very well written. Every scene is crafted with intention. Great character development and thematic elements surrounding colonization. The various ethnicities and languages of the characters emphasizes the groups of people seen as expendable in colonial projects. Each act is very different and compelling. Really enjoyed the scenes of indigenous people peppered throughout.

One of the most beautiful, creative, and unique films ever. The score/soundtrack is outstanding. Ken Ogata has so much personality and intensity.
Repressed emotions leading to dangerous irrational ideas, and also the way an artists art becomes their reality, gives so much to reflect on.
    This is an absolute masterpiece.

One of the coolest movies ever, from the music to the fashion. Black and white makes crime films gritty and bleak. Great use of dolly zoom and dual perspective shots. This is highly rated and deserves all the hype. The film brings an impactful look into the tension between racist police and impoverished immigrants.
