  In the realm of Scooby Doo movies, top-tier consists of Zombie Island and this one. Much less formulaic than most, and it’s one of the few that contribute to the canon of real supernatural stuff in the Scooby Doo world. The less cartoonish art style and that pre-2000s animation hit DIFFERENT, and not to mention the fucking Hex Girls are in this one!

  Dreamworks has a ridiculous ability to continuously top its own gold standard, and this is definitely in contention for the best film the studio has ever put out. From the impeccably timed, lore-accurate jokes throughout to a few genuinely heartwarming scenes, very few other animated movies have ever sparked a comparable amount of emotion in me. Absolutely a 10/10 and very rewatchable—this will go down as a classic in my book.

  This movie would have had a legitimately profound ending if it ended 5 minutes earlier—instead, it decided to poorly imitate Gone Girl out of nowhere. Terrible score, also.
