1932’s original Mummy thrives on Pierce’s make-up and Karloff’s intimidating presence, but lacks in character development and story telling. However 1940’s follow up, The Mummy’s Hand, switches focus from the creature to the heroes and it’s much better for it! Charming characters, fun fantasy lore and exciting horror sequences all come together to make a wonderful monster flick!
