Unfortunately despite how much I loved the tone, cinematography and the acting performances, I just found it quite boring in all honesty. I usually enjoy a story that takes its time and but this meanders too much and accomplishes too little across the 2 hour run-time, although it is book-ended with a pretty interesting 20 mins or so at either side. The black and white colour grading along with the snowy small town setting reminded me hugely of the parts of Better Call Saul that are set after the events of Breaking Bad, it's just a shame that's about all they have in common.

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to put into words how important this film is to me and how hard it hits every single time.

Spellbinding performances all round. I found it retains the same awkward feel of many stage-to-screen adaptations but with the breakneck pacing of the first half, you almost manage to ignore it. Very glad I managed to catch this at the festival.

I also was lucky enough to attend a Q&A with Jessica Lange a few days before seeing this and it was just amazing getting to hear her talk about her career from beginning to now.

Absolutely loved the first half of this and the acting performances were all excellent, especially Özen, but I felt the final 15 minutes or so left much to be desired.
