The cinematography, score, atmosphere, sets, and attention to detail are all top notch. Although some of the signature Robert Eggers freakiness missed the mark for me I still adore the film. My only real complaint is the changes made from the 2016 script like removing the scene where Thomas runs into Von Franz on his way to Knock’s firm and when Count Orlok boards the Empusa. All around amazing film and a must watch for anyone who is into gothic aesthetics.
