Made me think about something I have never really thought about (that we should be kind to old people who might be lonely). So the subject of the film was unique and nice❤️

About Elly 2009
All of Asghar Farhadi's films are similar to each other. the characters are normal people with good intentions, but they somehow end up destroying someone's life. and he never gives us an answer to the questions "who is guilty/who is to blame...". but I really like this about his films! the characters are realistic too, so I can feel the moral dilemmas that they get stuck in

Sara 1993
'Sara' is an impressive film adaptation of Ibsen's play 'A Doll's House'.
However, I expected it to be more indigenised to the Iranian context. The differences between 'Sara' and 'A Doll's House' are extremely subtle and mostly serve to transfer the setting of the play. For example, I thought that Sara's religiosity might change the course of the film, but it didn't really. There is no critique of Iranian patriarchy and its social and political causes.
Nonetheless, 'Sara' is a great film and Mehrjui did justice to 'A Doll's House'. The film helped me realise Ibsen's genius in writing the original play.
