This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The first half of this movie is golden, takes you on this magical romantic chase, the second half haves you question everything and analyze every second. Easily could’ve shaved off 20 mins at the end but the final scene when Craig is older and yearns for his lover is heartbreaking.
The score is just phenomenal, this sense of longing but never achieving, which becomes apparent throughout the movie.
Plus a half a star at least for including Nirvana in the intro.
Very cute, but man this works at any point in history. A film about anti war in a way that teaches about loss, love, and struggles people go through. With the best line ever.
“I’d rather be a pig than a fascist”
Growing up sucks. But seeing and reminiscing about those golden preteen years just hits. That’s exactly what this film is about.
Reminiscing about the last summer adventure with your best friends, who are your world, before everything changes whether it’s someone starting a new school, moving, etc. It’s that prime time before entering teenage hood and dealing with more complex issues about life and school.
Seen before but guess I never logged it? Went for the 4K IMAX showing for this one.
Magical and beautiful are just bare adjectives to describe this story. Such a great adventure and redemption. Nature really is magnificent and we should preserve it best we can.
