Too repetitive, got boring quite quickly. The plot is too weak and the song they used at the beginning and the end of the film is so cheesy and sh*t. They’re great actors but the movie itself didn’t do it for me.

The Brave Little Toaster 1987
I counted about 20 dark themes that were explored in this cartoon. This includes abuse, kidnapping, death, suicide, etc. … I don’t know how this passed as a children’s movie with how disturbing it can be at times! But nevertheless, as an adult it was pretty entertaining to watch. Side note; I watched it in Polish because a friend found a copy with three versions; English, Czech and Polish.

Frida 2002
I don’t think this film did Frida’s life any justice at all. Its attempt was cheesy and lacklustre and at some points, I found myself giggling at how cringe the dialogues were. I think all actors did their best with the mediocre script and plot provided, but despite of their efforts there was nothing impressive about the movie. The scene of the trolley crash and the gold flakes… way too dramatic. I think Frida would have hated this movie if she had lived to see it!

The Second Mother 2015
Great performance from Regina Casé. A fantastic melodramatic piece on the reproductive and domestic labour of women that divides classes in many cultures, specifically in Latin America in this case.
