Annie Hall 1977
Annie Hall is undoubtedly an iconic film, and in some ways I can see why. It’s full of the awkwardness, neuroticism, intellectual jokes and references that eventually formed the basis of Allen’s on screen persona. The dialogue is as fast paced as to be expected, and the central character’s lines bounce off of one another like the balls in a pinball machine. I want to live in this universe possibly more than any other movie universe. Imagine Christmas in this universe it would be elite. Imagine a Christmas father of the bride party where they’re throwing a Christmas party for the Banks/Mckenzies? Or a tv series, that would be so epic!!!

Everyone hates on this, but it’s really not that bad. Andrew Garfield makes for a good Peter Parker and he kept me interested throughout. The suit is actually worse than the sequel one for some reason but apart from that, this film is definitely better than the sequel. Uncle Ben and Aunt May are actually really good in this, and it was heartbreaking when Uncle Ben died. His voicemail message and the message about responsibility, albeit told differently, was actually really interesting and profound. This is definitely an underrated Spider-Man movie and was almost brilliant.
