Visually the film is a masterpiece. Old 50s and 60s film stock took me back in time. Every scene had me 🤤 (especially Italy).
Themes of rise and fall. Creation v destruction built into the characters and what you see physically on screen.
Plot wise, it left a little to be
desired. The scope of the story itself is its own worst enemy. There’s just so much in there to unpack and I’m not sure even 3.5 hours was enough.…
A cinematic landmark and spiritual experience for those who watch in theatres. The scale of this film cannot be understated. I'm on my way to roll around the North Curly sand dunes just to decompress after witnessing this masterpiece. Send me to paradise 🙏
Woah, Marty Marty still doing the damn thing at 80 years of age. This is a mammoth flick and keeps its pace thanks its amazing score by the late great Robbie Robertson. Damn, so many legends involved in the making of this one. IMMENSE
