  I'm sorry, but that ending was a pretty good payoff for the Friends "running gag" that was established pretty much since the beginning of the movie, actualy.

  Beautiful, just beautiful, the wait was worthy for an absolutely gorgeous animation and scenery pieces, the personal ending of each character was really well done and satisfactory, the music choice was great, directing and storytelling wise this is Hideaki Anno at its best, this movie even manage to make me feel about Gendo, what a way to end an amazing series.
