The biggest surprise here is that this is actually a great date movie - despite my fiancé following some of the action scenes with her eyes closed.

It reminded me of Violent Night in tone, balancing humor and graphic violence. It happens to also be a Christmas movie which was a welcome twist.

    Nobody
also came to mind. Having said all that too, Novocaine, Violent Night and Nobody, should all get sequels (but probably won’t.)

Nepo baby central with Jack Quaid and Ray Nicholson.

An impressive feat in low budget high concept filmmaking.

Reminiscent of Carpenter in terms of production and tone, with a welcomed dose of psychedelic horror boasted by grimy practical effects.

Can’t believe I got to see this in cinema. Mad respect for this flick despite some repetitiveness and pacing issues.

A top Soderbergh, Fassbender and Blanchett.

Sexy, funny, but seriously thrilling. However I’ll be real I understood only about 75% of the British accent dialogue. No idea why it was such a problem here? Maybe my cinema was especially quiet?

Better than The Killer by a lot.

    An ad.

Read the wiki page, this is not a real movie.

There’s no tension, no characters, no subplots. Matt Damon plays “a guy” that he performs half asleep doing the same thing the whole film, talking on the phone yapping about the same thing.

It’s so painfully awkward to have a movie about a bunch of adult men and a company trying to buy the rights to an 18 year old, and not even showing this kid’s face or have him utter a single word.

What a reminder this movie ended up being of how much I liked Christine (1983).

There’s obviously so much discourse happening right now over this, and an alarming amount of negativity. With a serious lack of screen time for Michael and a shift of attention to a different plot, I can understand how folks would feel thwarted as far as their expectations and in turn feel dissatisfaction. I did not feel this way. I was enthralled. Thwart me all day. …
