OK... so HOW did I not watch anything by Corbet?!!! This dude can DIRECT! Every frame a painting is excellent description of this movie. It is well paced, with excellent performances all around. Yeah I'll agree there are some issues in the second half, and I do not mind the ending as much as others. But I loved experiencing this on the big screen. Everyone should see it on the big screen! The movie is filled with quiet unease throughout,…

Honestly a pretty good outing from Eggers. Visually stunning as usual for him, with some unexpected visual choices for the title character. Excellent directing throughout and great performances with the personal standout in Lily-Rose Depp, not that the others are faltering. But a lot falls on her shoulders, and she delivers. Bill Skarsgard sells the creepiness of the Nosferatu very well. Not as scary as I expected tho... but that might be a personal thing. :P
Still overall a great flick, please do check it out in theatres when you can.

Too many notes. Perhaps the best way to present this movie. When does the talent win out and when does society's contempt? How far will envy take us? A fantastic study of an obsessive arrogant man, a man of specific convictions, a man who can't stand when the world doesn't fit his needs and ideas. What does he do then? Take revenge on it. The core of the movie lies in the Salieri/Amadeus dynamic, but it plays with the idea…
