Woman of the Hour 2023
This is a powerful and important film that’s difficult to put a rating on because of its sensitive but impactful subject. What stands out to me most is the way it was directed. It approaches such a traumatic story with care and thoughtfulness, avoiding explicit violence or assault while still capturing the horrors several women endure, and also showing how women are repeatedly failed by the legal system.

Beau Is Afraid 2023
God I love this movie. It PERFECTLY conveys the intricacies of anxiety and guilt, and gave such a great analysis of the subconscious mind that’s shaped by childhood trauma. Ari Aster managed to capture the essence of the human psyche SO well and I’m so excited so see more of his work in the future. He needs therapy though
