the best way to describe Barbarian is a cheeseburger- a great cheeseburger…but with a bun that’s been buttered and toasted. a cheeseburger on its own is rather simple, but when cooked to perfection and with good toppings, it’s a damn good meal—-but that buttered and toasted bun gives it some richness and cuts out some dryness. the movie consists almost entirely of standard horror movie structures and tropes, but they’re executed to such a T that it becomes a step above…
