The Lego Movie 2014
I was not the intended audience I say. Though it does it's job well. Topics of rediscovering childhood wonder, state surviellance, self confidence, and many more. It'a well crafted and that's very clear. I'm just not that into legos.

It's pretty and incredibly aesthetic. So much so that it feels "over the top", but this doesn't detract from the experience. Rather it brings a slightly comedic edge to it, at least for me. As I viewed such excessiveness as indulgence.
It's gothic all right. The film did a fantastic job immersing me in the world. I felt as if I was there, but I did smoke beforehand so bias, bias, bias.

Monster hunting film with political power struggles.
Themes of corruption, found family, the people united, and love. An incredible watch. I had a lot of fun watching this. The action was fun and the dialogue humorous. It doesn't take much to entertain me though.

Alien Romulus was a fantastic film. It was very clearly made with love, care and dedication.
Cinematography was on point referencing past works; exposition to tie past bits of lore to the present, set design, creature design and practical effects all tied together to weave an incredible story.
