This was such a favorite of mine as a kid, and I saw it early enough as a kid, that I think it literally influenced the way I imagined things. Lines… motion… storytelling… And like, I can’t just immediately imagine an Al Hirschfeld cartoon into existence, but I could run around the house the same way as the animation it inspired.
All this is to say, that I’ve seen this so many times. SO many times. Which is why I didn’t expect this time to bring me to tears. Man.
