  This movie should be called “Down Galactic: The Orlok Chronicles.” Definitely the least impressed I’ve been with an Eggers flick so far. Despite the visual feast, I felt like the characters were quite flat. Willem is eating for sure, Simon McBurney is fantastically deranged as Herr Knock, and Rose Depp has some amazing moments, but 100% couldn’t wait for everyone to get their hearts sucked up like a damn twizzler.

  Prolly the best musical adaptation since Chicago - sweet and pretty, and the performances are really great. For all the hype was pleasantly surprised by how much it is a capital M movie, not just a bunch of scenes. Enjoyed!

  A movie about vacuous people not only being openly horrendous, but in fact feeding their victims back their own pain like pig slop and charging them money for it. It’s hilarious and great. Tim Robbins shows trunk, Richard E Grant absolutely murders his 4 minutes, Altman has everyone talking constantly. Perfect.

  Heath Ledger turns in a top performance as JokeMan - The Ultimate Shitposter. There’s like 62 villains in this movie, which is cool. Tragically, Katie Holmes refused to be on set calling it “Too spooky,” and ergo we got Maggie Gyllenhaal exploding in her place.
