The lack of empathy and compassion makes me wonder how our society will perform if war were to ever arise again.
My heart still aches at the memory of Seita finding that Setsuko is sucking on a marble instead of a piece of candy, I think this symbolizes that Setsuko has always been aware of her own deteriorating health and the only thing she can do for her hard working brother that she loves so dearly is to try and mimic how she was back when she was healthy.
I don’t think I can watch this again my heart is still in recovery.Translated from by
