in the first act of the film, there was this scene in which things were layered behind one colored, damp, transparent filter - perhaps a glass door of sorts. then, out of nowhere, an out-of-focus hand barged in and wiped the glass, making things, conveniently, clearer for the audience.
the film captured my full attention then and there - i could not help but thinking this might probably the shot that will propel and define the Vietnamese new wave (should there be any), in the years to come.
