  I liked it a lot! Though,,, every summary of the movie describes it completely different than my understanding. 

  Even this Letterboxd description —begins with “love is a hustle.” What? That’s like the opposite of what I thought it’s about. 
  Confused.

  Tokyo Story 1953

  Really didn’t resonate with me, but I’m probably missing something. 

  To me:
  Felt kind of ungenerous outlook on humanity. All characters fit into an inherently good (virtuous, graceful, patient) or inherently bad (lazy, greedy, ungrateful) binary.

  And despite the thumbnail poster here, very few tears were shed. Actually, most lines were delivered with a smile, which confused me. But maybe it’s a different era of acting. 

  Coolest part was the scenes of trains and smokestacks.
