Get Away 2024
Not really sure how I feel about this film. There was some really cool parts but I felt a lot of the interesting parts were irrelevant and didn't add that much to the plot. The acting was pretty good, I really fucking love Aisling Bea and I think the director did a lot of heavy lifting for a bit of a weak script as the story felt a bit shallow. It didn't lean far enough in the comedy and so at parts felt a bit cold and made me uncomfortable. Not the worst, but definitely wanted more out of it.

An arduous journey of a film. In researching. I learned that the people who inspired the character Laszlo Toth didn't have to suffer displacement and poverty for a while whilst their art was disregarded. They actually paid to evade persecution and managed to have successful careers in architecture in their new country almost immediately.
