To be honest I watched this movie for the scenery and the action. That said it is kind of hard to watch the main characters constantly be on the offensive and have zero effect on the antagonist do the film. In other words if your characters are going to have weapons make sure they do at least something to the antagonist even if it is just slowing them down.

Watching this film makes you feel like a complete unknown, yet seeing the events that transpire that might not be the worst thing.
This film was spectacularly shot, the characters are drawn thinly between authenticity and caricature that makes them all feel more real. Stellar drama from Costner and Connery on this one. What really gets me is the contrast between the corruption and the conviction. Everyone in Chicago seems happy to take their slice of pay offs to let Capone be and keep doing his dirty work, while Ness stands defiant that he will stop at nothing to uphold the law.
