Wicked 2024
Managed to keep me entertained the whole 2.5 hours, which is saying something. Ariana was so good at playing Glinda, which I really wasn't expecting. She was super funny, and honestly the movie as a whole was funnier than expected. Cynthia Earvolino had incredible vocals, of course. Dancing through life was SO FUN and incredibly bisexual. But despite the length, I felt like some things were still underdeveloped (the significance of the animal oppression, Nessa Rose's whole character). I'll probably watch it again, curious to see how my opinion will shift.

Jojo Rabbit 2019
Very very good movie, can't believe it took me this long to watch. Loved the humor, I liked and appreciated how it made fun of Nazism and brought some levity while still being sensitive to the topic. I liked how it also looked at childhood and how kids develop their sense of self and the world - the combo of topics worked really well. I spent the last 20 minutes crying, and it left me feeling fulfilled.
