The Monkey 2025
allll over the place, loved it. theo james is maybe not the best for this role, but he killed it with Billy near the end. tatiana is also amazing in this and beautiful as always. the humor fell a little flat, despite it being clear that they were aiming to make this a more comedic/less serious movie. i was the only person laughing for the majority of the jokes. also, that monkey has potential to be terrifying, but this movie was not very scary. still liked it, and it gets bonus points for adam scott’s 5 minutes in there.

Josh Ruben has completely outdone himself. This horror romance is hilarious and perfectly follows the classic slasher sorta outline. The writing had very few moments that I thought needed real work (old people talking about betas? like yeahhh this is a horror movie but STILL). I also got a tad too annoyed at the forced jump scares (loud sounds that made no sense w their source). I might be judging that a bit harshly, but that’s just because Josh Ruben…
