also around what a meaningful life is, - David's constant references to his wife and child and job seem to have so much meaning, but still feel hollow. not that the alternative seems much better.

probably would receive a higher rating on a second watch where loud noises don't hurt me anymore lol. there's a lot to love about the film, and i did really like it, but i also feel like this is the intuitive rating i want to give. really loved the visuals and fantastical nature of the film - emma stone was so incredible. influenced me to start walking like bella after leaving the theatre.
