  ahead of its time, martha and karen deserved better. amazing to see the brief acknowledge of queerness existing and that the two women were well-rounded sympathizing protagonists.  mary is the spawn of satan. really great film with a great score and acting, how was i today years old finding out hepburn was in a lesbian film?

  god this was beautiful. a punch to the gut, the heaviness of its content was balanced perfectly with the beauty of its visuals, especially the use of light. i mean i love architecture so ofc i appreciated this. acting especially blew me away, guy pearce you are always such a good bad guy! the ending confused me a bit and felt a little rushed but wowie how amazing of a film. this struck me in a way that few do, the disintegration of the american dream before their eyes, a startling portrait into immigrant experience. brutal and beautiful, thats brutalism baby
