Wow. This was a deeply intimate (and lonely) portrait of the daily life of an undocumented Mexican man in NYC. The documentary did a good job of capturing Felipe's humanity in full spectrum. Their decision to not intervene throughout felt raw and allowed Felipe to simply be. Alongside his mariachi hat, he was funny, tragic, and complicated. I also appreciated the film's emphasis on the mundane and the way it mapped out NYC through the perspective of an underrepresented and often disenfranchised minority.
