    The Thick-Walled Room

    ★★★

The Thick-Walled Room begins as an exploration of a group of war criminal prisoners and their traumatic experiences, most of which were the result of orders from their ranking officers. But as the movie progresses, it shifts focus to a single character and his personal story.

This shift is one of the biggest issues. The movie doesn’t fully commit to either being an ensemble piece or an intimate character study, making the narrative feel uneven. One side plot was not…

    Drunken Master

    ★★★½

The movie that helped define Jackie's unique blend of action and comedy. It delivers some unbelivable fight choreography and training sequences. Jackie is all muscle in this movie (and I couldn't stop pointing that out while watching the movie).

Some comedic bits don't always land, with some gags feeling dated or overplayed. And a few of the fight scenes, while impressively choreographed, can drag on longer than necessary. Despite that, Drunken Master is still a martial arts classic.

    Creepy

    ★½

Creepy has marvellous cinematography, excellent acting and an amazing intro.

The first half really reminded me of Mindhunter, and the movie was indeed creepy.

But then comes the most outlandish and irrational second half of a serial killer movie I've ever watched. The instant complete obedience drug was unbelievable.
