What a rare and wonderful thing it is to watch a film and immediately know you're witnessing a classic unfolding before your eyes.

Putting down in words the myriad of thoughts and emotions and curiosities this stunning, solemn piece of cinema evokes after just one viewing is nearly impossible. There’s so much going on, thematically and visually, that it’s impossible to grasp it all at once: thirty years of American history in pristine widescreen VistaVison, presented by Corbet with the…

Alienating, mesmerizing, horrifying - both structurally and narratively - a formal severity that's unlike anything you've seen before.

The horrors of the holocaust as a nightmare soundscape and the banality of evil in a sun-lit flower garden.

The sound design, the score, the acting, the incredible framing of every single shot... Glazer is operating on a level that can't be compared to anything else. Close the competition now, maybe. We definitely throw the word 'masterpiece' around too freely, but if this isn't one, I don't really know what is.

    Brutally majestic.

When Park Chan Wook said 'give Robert Pattinson two Oscars!' he was probably being hyperbolic, but it's not hard to agree with him.

Having read both Mickey 7 and Antimatter Blues (its sequel) I knew that Pattinson was the best casting choice possible for this role, but he surpassed any high expectation I might have had.

The voice needs a minute to get used to, but once you're in, it's a wild ride. Every shade of this complicated character(s) comes…

Today was definitely not a good day for me to watch Mike Leigh's Hard truths but to be fair, I don't think there ever was going to be one. Absolutely annihilated me, Marianne Jean-Baptiste one of the greatest performances I've ever seen, shameful that no awards voting body recognized the sheer power of what she does here - both outwards and inwards.
Leigh forever a master of precise and hitting filmmaking. The framing, the minimal cuts and incredible framing allowing the actors (all great, across the board) to make these characters and this emotionally crushing story come to life.

The most insane thing about the studio tampering with Robert Eggers’ vision for this is that they ruined what could’ve been a masterpiece and still ended up with a difficult and highly un-sellable film.
    We all lose.
Having said that, I still loved it. There's some bad choices (the accents, mainly) and there's at least a couple scenes that you can *really* tell come from reshoots that are so OFF tonally and narratively that you just have to laugh and…
