It’ll be fun rewatching the entire franchise again with this in the mix, as this is yet another contender for #1. While I do have a few issues (the third act is a tad underwhelming, despite still being plenty of fun once the action picks up again; and the new characters are once again heavily sidelined in favor of further developing our returning survivors), it’s still a brutal, exhilarating, and emotional ride of a film.

Luv the commentary track. They (Fede Alvarez, Rodo Sayagues, Jane Levy, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Jessica Lucas) are fun to listen to, and I love hearing the little tidbits about the creation of the film. I always go through phases of being OBSESSED with this film. Like I will watch entire hours of the B-roll for it, it looks like so much fun. Tied for favorite movie of all time, and it’s been in that spot for almost 12 years now ☺️

Honestly, after this, while I rewatch Mildred Pierce, I’m just gonna get hella drunk n try to crank out this essay.

Barbara Stanwyck is hypnotic. She plays off of Fred MacMurray exquisitely.

The chemistry between the family was great. There were a few noticeable moments where I thought, "That's bad acting," but…

Much like the Pitch Perfect sequels, Happy Death Day 2U ditches the somewhat darker and more subtle adult humor in favor of campier and more over the top comedy. However, unlike Pitch Perfect 2, this film knows what it wants to be, and the humor works perfectly. As a fan of dark/offensive humor, I was also pleasantly surprised to see it ramped up this time, particularly during a sequence in which one character pretends to be blind, and, of course,…
