I didn't have expectations that this was gonna be another Parasite type film, but it's still ultimately disappointing. I think there's a lot going for it, a lot of interesting ideas and world building, and a fantastic Robert Pattinson performance (basically 2 performances in the same film). But the movie runs out of Steam past the midway point, and a lot of interesting themes and ideas are sadly brushed aside for more "basic" sci-fi entertainment. The tone of the movie is also all over the place. It is a fine entertainment piece, but considering the talent involved, I'd expect a whole lot more than that.

Who knew a sequel to Top Gun 36 years later could be one of the most adrenaline fueled and thrilling times at the cinema in recent years? With a more interesting story, amazing set pieces and even great character work, this sequel is clearly an improvement on the first one. The patience to wait 2 years for this to hit theatres was more than worth it, cause this is the definition of a theatre movie. Tom Cruise keeps showing how it's done.
